=== Pregnancy === Antidepressant exposure (including vilazodone) is associated with shorter average duration of pregnancy (by three days), increased risk of preterm delivery (by 55%), lower birth weight (by 75 g), and lower Apgar scores (by <0.4 points). == Adverse effects == BCG immunization generally causes some pain and scarring at the site of injection during infancy. The mechanism of this side effect is not fully understood, however it can be mitigated by performing the vaccination later in life. Usually wealthier regions have lower scar rate among the population, such as Western Europe, unlike its Eastern counterpart, where the BCG scar is considered widespread. The insertion to the deltoid muscle is typically used because the local complication rate is smallest for that site. In most countries it is the left shoulder, although some, like Brazil, administer the vaccination to the right. Nonetheless, the buttock is an alternative site of administration because it provides better cosmetic outcomes.

== Potential issues == While there is good evidence for the efficacy of opioid rotation as a treatment approach in general, there is less evidence for what particular opioid analgesics are most suitable, and in practice the choice of opioid drugs used depends on many factors such as patient characteristics, prescriber preferences and safety. The choice of what opioid drug to use in which patient thus tends to be a balance between many different factors that must be considered, and the need for opioid rotation in chronic pain patients makes it advantageous for a wide range of different opioid drugs to be available, even though they may be broadly equivalent in action when used in shorter term treatment. ==== Debate ==== Some question if patent waiver proposals formulated for small molecule drugs can be applied to complex biologics like vaccines. One vaccine production expert argued that "there is an unrecognized gap in understanding ... nearly all of the people who are providing views on the value of removing patent protections have zero experience in vaccine development and manufacturing." Indeed, most of the advocacy in favor of patent waivers has come from the public health community (which has drawn inspiration from the history of raucous HIV/AIDS activism in the 1980s and 1990s), while most members of the vaccinology community (i.e., actual experts on development and production of vaccines) have effectively refused to lend their credibility to such proposals by either remaining silent or refusing to take any position. These enzymes are crucial for breaking down large molecules in the environment into smaller ones that the microorganisms can absorb (transport into their cells) and use for growth and energy.
